100 million reasons to develop an Apple mobile app

June 8, 2010

Apple CEO Steve Jobs announced yesterday this not unexpected (but still startling) milestone: “We will sell our 100 millionth iOS device” by the end of June 2010.

Speaking before his company’s annual Worldwide Developers Conference—where the iPhone 4G was unveiled—Jobs talked up the prospects for apps developers:  “There is definitely a market for your applications.” (“Jobs to Developers: Stick with the winning team,” by Erica Ogg, CNET News 6/7/10)

So, is there any reason not to seize this opportunity and finally build your idea for a killer app?

This fall, NYU-SCPS is offering a new professional Certificate in iPhone and iPad Applications, a five-course program covering topics from basic and advanced app design to enterprise apps, wireless marketing, and mobile Web strategies. Budding apps developers can get the tools and knowledge they need in two semesters.
